There are 45 Assisted living accommodations located in three historic buildings on the Osborn campus that were completely renovated and modernized in 1998.
Sterling Home Care, Inc. — The Osborn's affiliated charitable home care agency provides the full spectrum of home care services both on and off the campus. Live-in companions, nurses, home health aids, and therapists serve the needs of a wide range of clients including follow-up care after discharge from The Osborn Pavilion.
History — The Miriam Osborn Memorial Home Association d.b.a. The Osborn was established as a charity by act of the State Legislature in 1892. It was the legacy of Miriam Osborn, who had a vision to create a charitable home for aged women. Upon her death in 1892, her will directed her friend and attorney John Sterling to apply a portion of her estate to carry out her vision. Sterling assembled the site for The Osborn upon our current property in Rye, NY and hired renowned architect Bruce Price to design an institution second to none in the world.
Pathway 2000 — In 1990 The Osborn's Board of Trustees undertook a major project to preserve, expand, modernize, and revitalize the mission of the institution. The project, Pathway 2000, is transforming The Osborn into a comprehensive, world class continuing care retirement community serving over 400 area senior women and men. The project will be completed in 2001, cost $100 million, and construct or completely renovate twenty-eight buildings on The Osborn's 56 acre campus.
